i decided to create a tote bag as it would be cheap to manufacture but also useful and would be utilized everyday which means the festival would be advertised well

the front is the gilded photograph with the tagline and limerick city of culture on it, on the back is the back of the frame which adds a quirky element to the bag

T shirt design

I have looked into tshirt design, i first took away the background and used the most simple element of the image, for example the dogs on the chairs.

i have used Bernard Condensed as the font as it looks like a vintage newspaper font but i contrasted the old fashion font with a modern striking yellow that also contrasts with the old black and white photos

At first i experimented with graffiti in the background and also the placement of the type.

i finally decided on the last image, i think it works well and i would love to make it and wear it myself

I’ve added a tagline to my campaign, i’ve used limerick slang in the images as its a very distinct part of limerick’s culture

Experimenting

I’ve been experimenting with my concept in photoshop and in illustrator.

I want to bring the culture of the show to the streets of limerick city, 

my way of doing that is using a gilded golden frame around the photographs

this will hopefully catch the bystanders eye as its unusual and unique to the billboard campaign.
